Workplace Health and Safety Show

Jørgen Gullestrup, CEO of MATES Australia, will be speaking at the Workplace Health and Safety Show on 25–26 March.

Jørgen has spent years challenging the way industry defines safety and making it clear that physical safety and mental health are not separate conversations. If we are serious about reducing harm on site, suicide prevention must sit alongside the provision of PPE.

You will hear:

• Why suicide prevention is a workplace safety issue

• How peer-to-peer programs are changing outcomes on worksites

• What leaders must do next

With more than 400,000 workers trained and over 30,000 volunteers across the industry, MATES has shown that cultural change happens when safety is owned by the workforce itself.

If you are attending the show in Brisbane, make sure you are in the room.

You might also see the new MATES branded hi-vis workwear on display; another practical way we are combining physical safety with visible mental health leadership on site, making trained volunteers easy to identify and approach.
